Go ahead and get technical in your suggestions and answers. I also did an "export" from the small PST file from my Outlook 2016, and when that PST file was imported into the Mac Outlook, I got the same results. There are no clickable subfolders under "Recovered Mails." Under this top level folder are only two subfolders: "Deleted Items" and "Recovered Mails." In side of "Recovered Mails" are only 7 emails from just one of the subfolders.

When I import this into the Mac Outlook, first the top level folder that was exported is positioned as a subfolder in "On My Computer." I imported this into my Windows Outlook 2016 and verified that I see all the folders and the respective email within each folder. Copying and exporting the PST file might be quick and easy. Copy the PST file and move it to another computer. Select the desired PST file to know the PST file location. Click on the data files tab to see the PST file available on your Outlook. When the import process is complete, click Done. Double click on the mail icon to access the account settings. Locate the data file on your computer, and then click Import. Select Outlook for Windows Data File, and then click the right arrow. Click Outlook Data File, and then click the right arrow.

There were about 4,000 emails spread over 20 some folders. On the Outlook for Mac File menu, click Import. So, because this stand alone PST file is quite large and many folders and subfolders, I setup a test to do an actual "export" of just one of the folders and set of subfolders. In reality the PST file I attempted to "import" to the Mac Outlook was a stand alone data PST file that the client "dragged" emails from her active inbox to various folders within this stand alone set of folders.

Ok, think I confused the issue a bit by say I did an "export" from a Windows Outlook and tried to import that to the Mac Outlook.
