I was a bit confused at first but seen as though I don't have very much important data on it at. Just a person with a simple question, which you understood the point of, yet rather than answer at their comprehension level you intentionally took something simple and complicated it for what purpose I have no idea. I have a 64gb Samsung evo Micro-SD card and have had it for a few years, recently my Samsung Galaxy S7 stopped detecting the SD card, after many restarts, I plugged the SD card into my PC and it said I needed to format it before I was able to use it. Currently on 140.0.0.0.0 bootrom, and successfully booted high Sierra but it’s showing up like an external drive. then I Installed my OS in my OLD SSD and then tried to make clone of it but faced weird issue. But now I need to format it, when I tried to format it, during installation its not allowing me to copy files. It’s also available in the slimmer M.2 and mSATA form factors. I bought Samsung 970 EVO 1TB and in first installation, I used Samsung Migration tool to make my NVME main Disk for OS from Old Samsung SSD. The 2.5-inch version of the 860 Evo will be available in several capacities ranging from 250 GB to a staggering 4TB.

Anyways I was wondering how to properly format it because it’s showing up as a external drive for some reason, not sure if this is correct. The 860 Evo is the latest mainstream SATA SSD from Samsung. When I did support work, I worked with a handful of guys that constantly did what you just did and every time I had to do something for a client AFTER they were working with them they were much more confused about everything and for no reason at all, nothing was accomplished, nothing was taught. Just received my Samsung 970 evo 500gb and lycom dt 120.
HOW TO FORMAT SAMSUNG SSD EVO EVO UPGRADE
Why you'd go out of your way to list a huge chain of technical events that only a handful of us understand is beyond me as the only thing it serves to do is confuse the OP when you know what was meant by the question. Upgraded the SSD in Surface Pro 4 to Samsung Evo 970 Evo Plus PRO4 I successfully upgraded the SSD in a surface pro 4 I started a little project to upgrade my current surface pro 3 that I currently have and since it was still running strong I thought I would take a chance buying a used surface pro 4, fixing it, and upgrading it.

You can debate and dispute the term all you want, regardless of whether it's a format done to the old definition or a quick 0 write, whether it's done manually or an automated process by the installer that's what happening and the drive can't be used until it's done. In the REAL world, we call it formatting.
